Aylsham is about 12 miles north of Norwich
Gardener in Aylsham and Broadland
Market-town gardens and the Broads edge. Close enough to Norwich for a proper maintenance round.
Aylsham is a market town with proper gardens: hedges, lawns, and the odd long plot running back from a street of brick. Around it, Buxton, Cawston, Reepham and Hevingham are village gardens rather than estates. East and south-east, Coltishall, Horstead, Wroxham and Hoveton sit on the Broads edge, where the ground can be kinder and wetter, and the hedges grow as if they are paid to. Spixworth and Horsford are the suburban side of the same compass, almost Norwich, and easy to fold into a city day.
This is realistic regular-maintenance country. Twelve miles to Aylsham is not a trek, and the villages between are how a round is built. We are not here to look after the National Trust borders at Blickling. Private gardens in the parish are welcome. So are the bungalows and family houses that simply need the grass cut and the laurel kept off the path.
The Broads themselves are not our brief. We do not do moorings, bank piling or boat yards. If your garden happens to end at a wet ditch, we will mow up to a sensible line and we will not put a mower on a soft bank. Say so when you book, and send a photo of the wet end.

The full list is available here. These are the local reasons people book each one, not a copied menu.
- Jet washingTown patios and drives in Aylsham, and the green paths on damper plots towards the Broads.
- Fence replacementVillage boundaries and estate panels around Spixworth and Horsford. Measured, then built.
- Fence & gate repairsSide gates and the odd panel. Easy to add when we are already in the village.
- Hedge trimmingA staple. Laurel moves fast here. Book before it becomes a renovation rather than a trim.
- Tree pruningFruit trees in the market-town gardens are exactly the work we want. Large riverside trees are not.
- Lawn care & turf installationGood growing conditions, which also means moss in shade and a lawn that needs a real schedule.
- Regular garden maintenanceThe right area for a regular visit. We can usually fit Aylsham and Broadland into a repeating week.
- Garden design & makeoversBorders that have become a hedge with a lawn around it. We put the shape back and plant for damp or dry as the garden actually is.
- Patios, paving & deckingSmall terraces and paths. On wetter ground the base and the fall are the job, the slab is the last layer.
