North Norfolk is a batch of towns rather than one village: Cromer, Sheringham, West and East Runton, Overstrand, and Holt with High Kelling just inland. The coast is flint, brick, holiday houses and wind. Holt is quieter, with town gardens and a different kind of tidiness expected. Both are a decent drive from Norwich — around twenty-five miles to Cromer — so the diary works when a day up here is full.
Holiday homes are a real part of the work. A garden needs to look kept when the next guests arrive, and it needs a proper cut before the season, not a frantic trim on the Friday. Give us the changeover dates early. We cannot invent a spare morning in August if the first call is the night before.
Aylsham, Coltishall and the Broads edge are closer to Norwich and have their own page. If you are in Mundesley or a village between Holt and the Broads, ask — we will take it when we are already on the coast, and we will not invent a weekly slot that is really a two-hour round trip for half a lawn.
