Poringland is about 6 miles south-east of Norwich
Gardener in South Norfolk
The villages south of Norwich. Clay, established hedges, and the gardens we can look after week in, week out.
South of Norwich the work is village after village, not a single town. Poringland, Stoke Holy Cross, Mulbarton, Swardeston and Hethersett are close — a few miles — and they are full of family gardens that have matured past the original turf and fence. Further out, Loddon and Chedgrave, Brooke, Bergh Apton, Long Stratton and Hingham are still a comfortable day, with older cottages as well as the estates.
The soil is the clay much of south Norfolk sits on. Lawns mark if you mow them when they are sodden. Hedges — privet, hawthorn, laurel, beech — are often the boundary, sometimes with a fence hiding inside them. Patios from the last renovation have frequently lost their fall, so water sits by the back door. None of that is exotic. It is the ordinary work of keeping a village garden, done on a round that can actually repeat.
If your village is not on the list and it is south of the city, ring anyway. Easton and the western fringe are often easier to treat as Norwich. Diss and the far south have their own page because the miles change the way we book the day. This page is the near and middle south: the patch a Norwich gardener should be able to maintain properly.

- Tree pruningFruit trees in cottage gardens, and small ornamentals. Large roadside trees go to a tree surgeon.
- Lawn care & turf installationCuts all season, scarifying when autumn allows, turf where a lawn has been lost to shade or wear.
- Regular garden maintenanceThe most natural fit on the whole site. Your village is likely already on the way to someone else’s.
- Garden design & makeoversGardens that grew up around a 1990s patio. We replan the lawn and the beds without a grand redesign you did not ask for.
- Patios, paving & deckingRelaying and small new sitting areas. On clay, the base is inspected before we match the slabs.
