Fence and gate repairs are the jobs that cannot wait until spring: a dog-sized gap, a gate that drags on the path, a panel flat on the lawn after a night of wind. We reset posts, swap broken panels, refit arris rails, and sort hinges, latches and dropped gates.
Norfolk gets its share of easterlies on the coast and south-westerlies across the open estates. A gate on the windward side needs hinges and a post that are up to it, not another screw in soft timber. If the post is rotten below the soil, a new panel on the old post is wasted money. We will price the repair and, where it is the truth, the replacement beside it.

Worth knowing
- A repair quote assumes the rest of the run is worth keeping. If we arrive and the whole line is soft, we will stop and reprice rather than tidy one bay of a failing fence.
- Metal gates with a bent frame are sometimes a replacement, not a tweak.
- We do not break into a neighbour’s side to fix a post. Access needs to be agreed.

Questions
Can you come out after storm damage?
Ring us. If a panel is down and an animal or a road is involved we will try to make it safe quickly, then book the proper repair. We cannot promise a same-hour arrival when we are already on another job.
My gate scrapes the patio. Is that a new gate?
Usually it is hinges, a dropped post, or the ground has risen. A new gate on a leaning post will scrape as well. We look at the post first.
Do you repair concrete posts?
Cracked concrete posts are normally replaced. They do not take a neat repair, and a patched post fails at the crack the next time the wind loads the panel.
