We supply and fit timber panel, closeboard and feather-edge fencing for gardens across our Norfolk round. The quote covers the length, the height, the number of posts, any gravel boards where the soil sits high, and the gates if they are part of the same run. Old timber can be taken away — say so, because it changes the price and the size of the van.
A lot of Norwich and South Norfolk gardens back onto neighbours, alleys or open fields. Wind on the A11 estates and along the coast is what actually tests a fence, not the brochure. We concrete posts, keep lines straight, and use gravel boards where a panel would otherwise sit in wet soil and rot from the bottom.
What is included
- Overlap panels, closeboard and feather-edge
- Concrete or timber posts, set in concrete
- Gravel boards on runs where the ground is high or damp
- Matching gates, where the opening needs one
- Taking down the old fence and removing the waste if agreed
- A line that follows the boundary you show us
Worth knowing
- We fit fences you are entitled to replace. We do not settle boundary disputes, and we will not put a new run up while two households are arguing about the line.
- If only the posts have failed and the panels are sound, a repair may be the better spend. We will say so.
- Fence height and what faces a road can matter to your council. If a run is unusually tall or on a highway edge, check before we order timber.
How it usually runs
01
Walk the line
Length, slopes, gates, and what is on the other side — a flower bed is different from a public footpath.
02
Choose the timber
Panel is the usual estate fence. Closeboard and feather-edge cost more and look it. We price both if you want the comparison.
03
Fit and clear
Posts go in, panels follow, and the old wood leaves if that was in the quote.
Questions
Do you replace a single bay or only whole gardens?
Both. One bay after a fall is a normal call-out. A whole boundary is a day’s work or more, and we would rather book it properly than squeeze it.
Can you match an existing fence?
Often, if the panels are a standard size. Weathered timber will not match new timber for a year or two. We will tell you that rather than stain something on the day and hope.
Who owns the fence?
That is between the deeds and the neighbours. Point us at the line you want fenced and confirm you can replace it. We are there to build it, not to referee it.
We cover Norwich and the Norfolk towns on the areas we cover page. If the garden is further out, ring and ask — the answer depends on the size of the job.
